How to be a cord blood donor:
If you are expecting a child and in your 34th week or earlier, you may contact our office at (678) 937-1706. Babies for Life offers a streamlined process to make cord blood donation easy for you, your family, and your physician.
There is no charge to donate and you will receive the satisfaction of knowing you have helped save another's life.
How it all works:
• Patient Contacts Babies for Life for a donation packet
• Babies for Life sends packet with information and consent forms
• Signs consent and obtains Physician/Midwife's signature on last two pages
• Patient returns forms to Babies for Life by the 35th week of pregnancy
• Babies for Life reviews consents for donor eligibility
• Collection Kit Mailed To The Patient
• Patient takes kit to hospital
Note: If you are delivering at one of our program hospitals in Georgia (Northside Hospital in Atlanta, North Fulton Hospital in Roswell or Kennestone Hospital in Marietta,) you may sign up at the time of your delivery. Please tell your labor nurse you would like to donate your umbilical cord blood and ask for a packet and a collection kit. We do, however, recommend that you sign up before delivery by calling
Babies for Life at (678) 937-1706.
