Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer private storage?

Blood banking regulations require anonymity that cannot be broken once the cord blood is donated. This is similar to donating at your local blood bank. Some individuals have opted to store their infant's umbilical cord blood for their personal family use. Babies for Life Foundation can assist in establishing a private storage account through our processing center. Private storage has been beneficial if there is a family member with a current or potential need to undergo a stem cell transplant. If you have an immediate need for a transplant our processing center will process your cord blood and hold it for you at no extra charge. If you feel this condition exists, please contact your physician or Babies for Life Foundation as soon as possible prior to birth.
